The most efficient way to provide customers with golf balls at practice ranges is via a kiosk dispensing a set amount of golf balls according to the amount bought. Most often a receipt is issued with a barcode printed on it, the barcode is scanned by the module integrated into the kiosk and the appropriate numbers of golf balls are dispensed. The often remote locations of golf courses and ranges means the scanners chosen must be as rugged and reliable as possible. CCD and Linear image scanner engines are chosen because they have the best MTBF (mean time between failures) statistic and are there for less of a drain on maintenance and logistic resources of the kiosk builders/resellers.
In fact the engines chosen buy our gold ball kiosk builders are low cost enough that in the rare advent that a unit breaks down it’s more cost effective to ship out a new unit that repair an old one.
It’s no coincidence that the UK’s 3 largest manufacturers of golf ball dispensing machines use CCD’s |
